| What is a Room Revival? A Room Revival typically entails spending a few hours with you, first getting to know a little bit about you, looking at the space to be revived, looking at other spaces to evaluate the relocation possibilities, and asking questions. This usually takes from 30 - 45 minutes. "Before" photos are taken. The next step is to recommend options. This is done verbally, in a rough floor plan sketch on graph paper, or both. I encourage you to participate with ideas and suggestions of some of your items which may not be readily handy (in the basement, attic, under a bed, etc.). Then the actual relocation and rearranging can begin...with you and me working as a team to move the furniture. If "heavy lifting" is required, this should be clarified ahead of time so additional personnel can be assigned to the project. Generally, moving common household items can be easily handled. Heavy desks, bookcases, etc. may require moving disks or dollies and should be emptied or have drawers removed to make the task easier. Pianos are especially sensitive pieces and will often require tuning after being moved. Besides furniture, other items which are often relocated are pictures and other wall hangings, knicknacks/bricabrac, window treatments, plants, statuary, rugs, lamps, and other small accessories. When the Revival is complete, "After" photos are taken. The "Before" and "After" shots will be made available to the client. Room Revivals work within the existing envelope of the space, either a home or office. As time allows, I may provide further recommendations regarding wall colors, window treatments, and any additional ideas which you may carry out on your own.
